Ranjeet, a young executive in a software company in Pune, approached me along with the dog, a Palmarian of about two years old.
“My family has been keeping the pets since long, since we are staying in the flat, we generally keep small breeds only, and my father brought this pet for about two years back. We are facing a very typical problem, whenever the guest come in the house, our pet starts rubbing his ass over the floor and it becomes very embarrassing for us. Two days back, my ‘Would be in laws’ came and he embarrassed me in front of them”
“I am so sorry, unfortunately this poor dog did not recognize your in laws.”
I checked up the dog for fungal infection or any other issue , it was not there.
“Can you show me the deworming schedule of your dog? ”
“We have been deworming our dog on regular basis but we do not maintain any record ”
“Please be fair to your pet, keep the record and show to your doctor whenever you go to him, he will write the next deworming schedule and follow that schedule strictly”
He agreed and I prescribed a schedule for his dog.
I saw him again after one month and he was quite happy. No more complain.
I felt happy too.
This is the mistake, good pet owners will never do. They will keep the deworming record, follow the schedule and ensure that their poor pet does not embarrass them in front of in –laws.
